Q: How do I get MAX at home, or at work?
Well, you need to live in Australia. MAX comes to our Australian metropolitan
viewers via Foxtel & Optus and in regional areas of Australia, through Austar. To subscribe call
Foxtel on 131 999, Austar on 132 432 or Optus on 13 33 11.
Q: I just made a request on the MAX website, how long before
it is played?
It depends. We receive over 1000 requests per week, so it
is difficult to play them all. Sometimes a request will air within a
few days, at other times, depending on the song, it might take a month
or more.
Q: Why won't you play my request?
Most of the time because we simply do not have the clip. Not
many clips were made prior to 1980 so if your request is for a '60s or
'70s track, we might not have it. Also, MAX plays music for adults, so
if you've requested the new Limp Bizkit track, look for it on our sister,
Channel [V].
Q: Why doesn't MAX have hosts?
Because we want the artists to be the face of the channel
and as MAX is dedicated to playing more music than any other channel,
we try to avoid people talking for long periods of time. Of course as
we grow we will be looking at adding hosts to the channel with the aim
of providing a way of getting more information to you. This has already
started with maxvision and will continue as we move forward but as always
the aim is to play as much music as possible and this will always be
the driving force for MAX.
Q: Why isn't there better program information in the magazine?
Mostly because of limited space dedicated to music channels.
MAX provides information about all of our programs to the Foxtel & Austar magazines. The editors of each magazine ultimately decide what to include.
Please use the website as your best guide.
Q: Why is the information in the magazine incorrect?
MAX must provide information to the magazines 2 months prior
to airtime. On occasion we get the opportunity (at the last minute) to
interview artists or shoot concerts. Rather than hold onto these gems
for two months (ensuring accuracy in the magazines) we put them on the
air at a time where it's most relevant. Our mission is to provide the
best possible music programming for adults, and doing so sometimes means
changing the schedule. Check the homepage of this site for updated information,
as it is updated regularly.
Q: I loved that show you ran last night, can I get a copy?
Where can I buy it?
Our agreements with distributors of programs prohibit us from
making copies for viewers. If you want to purchase programs, it's best
to see if they are available at the usual retail outlets. There are several
websites that offer a wide variety of videos & DVDs.
Q: How can I get off your mailing list?
You can easily log in and go to edit your details at the top
of the page to alter your subscriptions.
