Courtney Love's daughter says mum's drug use killed her pets

Courtney Love

Courtney Love's actions caused the death of the family's pets, her daughter has alleged.

Frances Bean Cobain, 19, took out a restraining order against Love in 2009 and now the previously sealed deposition documents have been unearthed by The Fix.

In the sworn court documents, Frances claims that her cat and dog were both killed due to her mother's hoarding and use of pills.

She alleged that her cat died when it got tangled up in fabric, rubbish and paperwork in the home while her pet pooch was killed after swallowing the troubled singer's pills.

"[Love] has taken drugs for a long as I can remember," Cobain said of her estranged mother.

"She basically exists now on Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes.

"She rarely eats She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives."

Love has released a new e-book called Courtney Comes Clean, where she talks candidly about her relationship with her daughter, her struggle to maintain her sobriety and her despair when husband Kurt Cobain died in 1994.
