Rolling Stones logo gets makeover

Rolling Stones logo gets makeover The Rolling Stones have recruited street artist Shepard Fairey to rework their iconic logo for the band's 50th anniversary.

The British rockers unveiled the sleek new take on their classic tongue-and-lips design to mark their half-century in rock'n'roll ahead of a planned string of celebratory gigs later this year.

Fairey, best known for designing US President Barack Obama's Hope posters, has added a circular red and white banner reading The Rolling Stones - Fifty Years, and incorporated the number 50 into the band's name.

The tongue, created by art student John Pasche, first appeared on the Stones' Sticky Fingers album sleeve in 1971.
