Scissor Sisters announce Australian tour

New York glam queens the Scissor Sisters are returning to Australian shores for three shows in September.

The band will be hoping for a better reception after their New Year's Eve set at Phillip Island's Pyramid Rock Festival earlier this year.

Frontman Jake Shears tweeted after the gig: "I just rang in the new year on a stage getting bottled by a bunch of Aussie rednecks".

Scissor Sisters bounced back the following day at the Summadayze festival in Melbourne and it appears the incident is long forgotten with the band announcing their return.

Fans can expect all the high energy disco anthems, such as 'Laura,' 'Take Your Mama' and 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin,' and highlights from Scissor Sisters' recently released fourth album Magic Hour

* Scissor Sisters play the following shows:

September 25 - The Arena, Brisbane

September 26 - Hamer Hall, Melbourne

September 27 - Opera House Concert Hall, Sydney
