Ringo Starr returned to his hometown of Liverpool, England to play his first gig in the city since infuriating residents by insisting he missed "nothing" about it.
The former Beatles drummer sparked fury among residents in the area where he grew up when he made the comment to British TV presenter Jonathan Ross during an interview in 2008.
Several angry viewers complained to the BBC over the incident, and a Beatles memorial in the city was vandalised. Starr later insisted his comments were a joke and admitted he couldn’t believe the furore his words caused.
And Starr was keen to put the incident behind him after taking to the stage in Liverpool for the first time since 2008 on Saturday, shouting out: "I love Liverpool" three times to his fans at the Liverpool Empire.
However, it seems the city’s residents haven’t completely forgiven Starr – the 2300 capacity venue was not sold out, according to the BBC.
