Russell Crowe Highlights Australian Bushfire Crisis At Golden Globes

Russell Crowe has used one of the biggest stages in the world to draw more attention to the Australian bushfire crisis.

Crowe, who is currently in Australia, just scored a Golden Globe (Best TV Movie/Limited Series) for his portrayal of Roger Ailes in Showtime miniseries The Loudest Voice, and Jennifer Anniston read out an acceptance speech in his absence.

“Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based,” Crowe said.

“We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way, we all have a future. Thank you.”

Also nominated in the category was Catch-22, Chernobyl, Fosse/Verdon and Unbelievable.

The Loudest Voice premiered via Stan last year.
