Flint’s bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim released another statement earlier via the group’s Facebook page confirming the news.
“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed,” it reads. See the full post here.
The Prodigy formed in 1990 with Flint originally joining them on stage as a dancer. The band shifted from rave notoriety to stadium fame with Flint-led hits Breathe and Firestarter (both from 1997’s Fat Of The Land album).
The group were in Australia earlier this year for a tour in support of their recent No Tourists album, which saw them play arenas in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
